What Is DSA?

The Seller Digital Sales Agent (DSA) is a software layer that connects a seller's existing business systems to the GMEX platform. These systems may include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), pricing tools, and inventory management software. DSA enables communication between GMEX and the seller's systems without requiring the seller to replace their existing software.

When GMEX requests product information, DSA retrieves the relevant data from the seller's connected systems and returns it in the format required by GMEX. This information may include:

  • Product pricing and applicable discounts.
  • Available inventory quantities.
  • Estimated product availability and lead times.

DSA supports the following activities:

  1. Receives requests from the GMEX platform.
  2. Maps each request to the appropriate seller-side data source.
  3. Retrieves the requested product, pricing, inventory, or lead-time information.
  4. Formats and returns the results to GMEX using the required response structure.
  5. Supports the preparation and updating of product catalogs, including part numbers and descriptions, to help GMEX identify and match products.

The seller continues to manage their own systems and business data. DSA provides a standardized integration layer that allows GMEX to request the information it needs without requiring every seller to use the same ERP or internal software.

Business Value of DSA

DSA simplifies integration between GMEX and different seller systems. Each seller can continue using their existing software and data structures while providing information through a consistent interface.

  • System flexibility: Supports integration with different seller-side ERP, pricing, and inventory systems.
  • Up-to-date information: Helps GMEX obtain current pricing, inventory availability, and lead-time information when supported by the connected systems.
  • Seller data control: Allows sellers to retain control of their internal systems and business data.
  • Consistent integration: Standardizes how seller information is exchanged with the GMEX platform.
  • Product matching: Supports product identification and cross-referencing through catalog information, including part numbers and descriptions.

Why Upload Inventory?

Inventory upload helps import product information into GMEX for product matching and inventory synchronization. The appropriate workflow depends on how the seller manages their inventory data and whether their DSA is connected to an ERP or another internal system.

DSA and ERP

Upload Inventory Through DSA

When the seller uses DSA with an ERP system, upload the inventory file through DSA and map the file columns to the corresponding fields. Select GMEX Sync to synchronize the uploaded inventory with GMEX.
