Vision
To make business significantly easier for buyers and sellers of finished metal products.
Mission
To deliver the fastest, easiest, most cost-effective way to buy and sell metals.
GMEX Today
Today we act as your online agent/concierge to connect buyers and sellers of pipe, valves
and fittings for the fastest, most cost-effective transactions for buyers and sellers. We
use our proprietary platform to return the best price and landed cost for a more modern
online experience; like your personal online shopping experience.
Buyers provide their full piping, accessories, and fabrication (if required) requirements to
GMEX.
Qualified sellers are notified and return their best price and delivery to GMEX.
GMEX, through its platform, evaluates the offers and provides the best landed price option
for the buyer.
The buyer places the order through GMEX, which connects the buyer and seller and receives a
commission on the sale.
This happens faster and provides more customers to sellers and pricing options to buyers
than the current industry processes.
GMEX Tomorrow
GMEX is developing an online finished steel order and delivery platform. Through an
application in a web browser, users will be able to upload a request for quote to
participating sellers, where the GMEX
platform chooses and returns the best price and delivery automatically… instantly.
The game-changing difference between GMEX and the traditional process of requesting and
receiving bids is not just the speed, but the quality and quantity of suppliers that supply
their best price and
delivery for the buyer. The platform removes all the time and "friction" in the traditional
bidding process by offering instant access to multiple vendors with in-stock material
matching the buyer’s
requirements and purchasing filters.
Why GMEX?
Today’s consumers want instant online pricing and the ability to order on the spot with
lightning-fast delivery.
The GMEX platform removes the friction from the current process of purchasing finished steel
products. The current method of purchasing finished steel shapes involves the customer,
typically a manufacturer or
contractor, creating a bill of material and sending it to their qualified vendors (steel
distributors). The steel distributor’s inside sales representative matches the customer’s
request to the corresponding
part number and description in their system, gets pricing for the material, manually looks
up individual pricing, fills out the quote request, and sends it back to the customer. This
process can take anywhere
from an hour to a couple of weeks.
The platform automates this and returns the best price and delivery in as fast as seconds.
Not only does the platform return the best price and delivery from a source of multiple
vendors, but typically the first distributor to return a price gets the order.
